Before beginning any strength-training program, we advise that you determine your one-repetition-maximum (RM1) to gauge your current strength level. The result of one-repetition-maximum testing will give a precise indication of how much weight you are capable of lifting for one repetition across a range of fitness exercises, sport specific or otherwise.
